A collection of female vocalists got together on May 8 to begin production on the Tejanas Unidas En Cristo collaboration, a beautiful Christian song of inspiration and hope that will feature 25 amazing singers.
The joint effort is the brainchild of Rio Grande Valley singer Genyva, who recently returned with a broken-hearted power ballad “Como Te Atreves” earlier this year. She is planning a Christian album and the lead single will be a wonderful combination of female voices of the Tejano music industry.
“The song is going to be able to bring unity amongst women en la Onda Tejana,” Genyva tells Tejano Nation. “Like an inspirational, motivational song, not only for women but just to show unity amongst Tejanas.”
A few of the singers recorded at the famed Legend Sounds Studios of Freddie Records in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 8, including Genyva, Shelly Lares, Patsy Torres, Monica Saldivar, Magali Delarosa, Krystalina J. Vallejo, Alyssa Torres, Margarita, Cristina Salinas, Crystal Torres, Sarah Monique, Marisela Hernandez, Vee González and Demmi Garcia.

Genyva added, “We still have some amazing vocalists that will be joining the collab.” The project will feature more Tejano veterans including Stephanie Lynn and Rebecca Valadez, along with rising stars like Destiny Navaira.
“I feel like God put this vision in my heart and every single girl that he put in my mind has agreed to be on the track and it’s a beautiful song of hope and in a time like this, with the pandemic, I think it’s going to be able to touch the lives of many people because people’s hearts are in need of inspiration and hope,” said Genyva.
Shelly Lares added, “Talk about a beautiful experience! Thanks to my friend and musical sister, Genyva, I recorded with talented women in Tejano music and we all dedicated our voices to glorify God. This is a special project that spoke to Genyva’s heart and yesterday was an amazing start to something that is destined to be beautiful!”
The Tejanas Unidas En Cristo collaboration is set for release this summer along with a music video.
